This photo challenge was definitely challenging! To illustrate Resolved in a photo proved much more difficult than I thought, or maybe I just simply didn’t have anything in my photo collection to do the job (or lacked the imagination to take an appropriate picture). In the end, my wife suggested I look Resolve(d) up in the dictionary and see what, if any, definitions would work with what I have. Here’s what I came up with for the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Resolve.
All definitions are from the Merriam-Webster <additional examples by me>.
Transitive Verb
2 a : break up, separate <the prism resolved the light into a play of color> <the sunlight was resolved into a rainbow on the stormy sea>; also : to change by disintegration
5 : to reach a firm decision about <resolve to get more sleep> <resolve disputed points in a text> <Richard is Resolved that Tim and Mike are lost>
7 : to make (as voice parts) progress from dissonance to consonance <no real dissonance with this local band, just good music>
Intransitive Verb
1 : to become separated into component parts; also : to become reduced by dissolving or analysis <the millennia-old mixture of ice and earth become resolved into water and mud as the glacier calves>

Very resourceful how you have resolved this week’s challenge, Greg! And beautiful pictures, thank you!
Thanks, Jen. I only hope that WordPress is resolved not to make them this hard all the time
Lovely photos. And thank you for going beyond the usual New Year’s resolutions!!
Thanks, Vladimir, but I have to be honest that this one almost stumped me. But in the end it was fun.
For the record, we were not lost. Yet.
I see the therapy is working, you’re no longer just blaming Mike. (I’ll probably pay for this…)
Hi,
.
Happy New Year,
Very creative! You illustrated very beautifully (and with humor) what the verb to resolve is all about.
Much enjoyed!
Thank you, xpat92. It was a fun photo challenge.

Brilliant post. We are very new to paddling in the ocean. I sense your blog will be quite inspirational to my husband and myself. Loved the tanker pics! (www.islandhomeblog.wordpress.com & http://www.htheblog.wordpress.com)
Hi htheblog. Thank you for following my blog. I hope my blog does inspire you to get out and do lots of kayaking around our beautiful waters, but I thinks it’s going to inspiring for me, even more, to follow both your blogs from a photographic point of view.
I’ve got a bit of a shoulder issue that’s going to keep me off the water for a couple of weeks or so, but after that, I would be game to get together for paddle next time you’re on Pender.
I’m glad you have checked out my blogs! It is nice to know it is being read.
I laughed when you mentioned getting together for a paddle; it would be an experience you would never forget as we have 5 children aged 2 to 14 years. It would definately not be a serene paddling experience.
If you ever see us out on the beach (the 5 children seem to give us away easily on Pender) come over and say “hi”. We’d love to meet you.
