I’m at home today with a nasty cold, so I can at least get my photo challenge out on the same day it’s issued. This is the first cold I’ve had in couple of years now, so it too is a surprise. But not a welcome one…
Here’s my take on the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Surprise.
A Surprise Forest of Christmas Trees in an Ordinary Hallway
A Surprise Snow Fall Delights the Dog (We rarely get snow here)
A Surprise Cattle Drive when Our Neighbors Herd Went Walk-About

such beautiful images…I really like all of them
Thank you, Jo. Your posting will certainly surprise people!
I imagine so…hopefully they will laugh though
Is that Charlie? Such an expressive face. A wonderful photograph. The Christmas trees are pure magic.
Thanks, Paul. That is Charlie. He’s such a photogenic dog and I think he likes to pose for the camera. The Christmas trees were in the basement of the Empress, where very few people will see them. Seems like kind of a waste.
Great pics, Greg! Well done! Which hotel is that? And which snowfall???
Hi Jen. The hotel is the basement of the Empress, and the snowfall was a couple of years ago. Looking at the forecast, there is a possibility of snow on Christmas day. Wouldn’t that be fun.
Ah-choo!!! Sorry you are under the weather and that beautiful dog looks to be saying”I’m here, feel better, ok?”
Lovely images as always!!!
Thanks, Lynne. He’s quite a character, Charlie is. Full of mischief and entertainment.
I love that dog. If he ever needs a home…
Oh, he’s got it pretty good, Paul. He’s one of only two Canadian breeds. He’s a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Lots and lots and LOTS of energy. But so full of life and happiness.
It shows!

These are all outstanding Greg! Love the clarity in the rooster shot and you do have the greatest looking dog in the world. Duck toller retrievers are the best.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and all the very best in the New Year!
Thank you, Kevin. Charlie really is the light of our lives. Drives is crazy sometimes but he’s well worth it.
Merry Christmas to you as well. Or I guess I should be saying Faliz Navidad.
